Old Town is a 5-min drive east for lunch and shopping. Sadie's of New Mexico is a 7-min drive north on 4th Street for a heartier NM meal. Sawmill Market is also a 5-min drive for food-hall variety.
What to Expect
Venue Tips
The ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden is at 2601 Central Ave NW, on the west bank of the Rio Grande just west of Old Town. Part of the Botanic Garden / Aquarium / Zoo complex (combo tickets available). Free parking on-site. Best time to visit is morning in summer or late afternoon in spring/fall for cooler temps and softer light. Bring water; trails are mostly shaded but there are open stretches. The Japanese Garden and the BUGarium (live insect exhibit) are kid favorites.
